Yes, there was an alarming incident at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where former President Donald Trump was targeted in an assassination attempt. Trump was shot in the ear but is reported to be safe. The gunman was killed by Secret Service agents, and unfortunately, one spectator also lost their life123.
